About design

At MTB Cycletech design means a lot more than (color accents on the frame) outlining frame decal graphics: Butch Gaudy, the creative director, looks at design as a conceptual idea. He has a strategy based on simplicity and high recognition. There are no MTB Cycletech bikes boasting huge logos. Instead, a vertical stripe on the steerer tube and the name webaddress: mtbcycletech.ch in subdued lettering refer to the origin. The hydroformed tubes of the mountain bikes make them the mountain bikes visually pleasing and highly durable. functional. And the city bikes have feature an optional compact, high-quality LED lightn integrated with a rear-rack system that has been newly developed for 2010.

It's this such exceptional attention to details which makes an MTB Cycletech stand apart. A good designer does not make a bike everyone would like to have. He creates a bike you always wanted but you didn't know it - yet. A bike that appeals to your eyes and satisfies your needs.

As Butch puts it:
Good Bike Designs require three trhings: a) guts, b) brains and c) eyes!
a) You need skills to make a bike and passion to ride it but you need guts to make it happen.
b) To make it work right is difficult. To make it look right is damned difficult. To join the two needs a vital brain.
c) If you like your bike, you will like to ride it too. It's an eye thing. It will last for ever.
